Just to finalize this, I paid the money, the repairs were made and the Ipod returned to me in working order. Bottom line, do NOT attempt to replace the battery yourself. It is not easy despite the video and appearance of being so. It's all a gimmick to entice you to try it yourself only to cause further damage and end up costing 2-3x the original cost. find a local repair shop and pay to have it replaced.
